ŽKK Athlete Celje is the winner of the first Only Friends International Tournament in Landsmeer. In the Finals the Slovenian team beat St Katelijne Waver 55-54 in a game with a thrilling last period. Celke took a 2-24 lead in the first quarter, but the Belgians fought themselves back in the game and closed the gap point by point until they tied the game 44-44 with five minutes remaining. For five minutes both teams exchanged baskets, with Tina Trebec scoring six points including the winning last one. Trebec tallied 16 points for Celje, while Serbian native Sanja Orozovic had 11.
In the Losers Finals Pharmaserv Marburg and ProBuild battled each other in an equally close game. The Lions led for most of the game, posting a maximum 50-39 lead at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth period Marburg clawed themselves back. Lisa Koop capped a 0-10 Marburg run scoring 62-63 with two minutes on the clock. Kim Hartman hit two consecutive 3-pointers for ProBuild to tie the game with 8 seconds on the clock, but former Lion Amanda Davidson hit a game-winning buzzer beater in the last second. Davidson finished the game with 24 points. Lisa Koop had 14 and Shenita Landry contributed 12. With the Lions Demelza ten Caat had a productive afternoon with 13 points and Kim Hartman added 10 in her first game since she got injured one-and-a-half week ago.
